The news have spread worldwide as British tabloid "Daily Mail" said the South African 800m world champion Caster Semenya, subject to sex tests, is a pseudo-hermaphrodite. According to the information revealed, Semenya has no uterus and no ovaries (a real hermaphrodite must have testicles and ovaries simultaneously). Instead, she has inner testicles, which are responsible for the high levels of testosterone the athlete carries in her body.
One can remember that in previous tests, Semenya accused three times more testosterone than in a normal feminine organism.
This information may be harmful for the career of the 18 year-old, since it is unclear if she may have physical advantages compared to fellow female athletes.
